My name is Chloe Trofatter and I am a Michigan-based photojournalist.
My grandpa started the first newspaper in my small Northern Michigan hometown where I eventually got my first photo internship as a high school graduate, so you could say journalism is in my blood.
I was further drawn into this world by the excitement of covering concerts, Big Ten football games and presidential campaigns for The State News at Michigan State University - where I got my bachelors and masters degrees in journalism - but I stayed because of the everyday people I’ve met who live to better their communities.
I'm forever amazed by all peoples and cultures and aim to learn about and document them with integrity and respect. Everyone has a story and I want to help tell it.
